But we\u2019re scrappy, and when we tackle an issue, the results are usually good for your compounding practice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, we\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/2022-04\/finally-a-patient-reported-outcomes-platform-for-ompounding\/\">launched a portal<\/a> to help our members aggregate patient-reported outcomes to prove to FDA that compounded medications are benefitting millions of patients. Via our Legal Action Fund, we\u2019ve filed two recent amicus briefs in court cases, one defending <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/2022-04\/apc-to-submit-amicus-brief-to-preserve-california-patients-access-to-glutathione-and-methylcobalamin\/\">your right to compound methylcobalamin<\/a> and another <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/2022-05\/apc-amicus-brief-addresses-ambiguity-in-fda-insanitary-conditions-guidance\/\">addressing ambiguity<\/a> in FDA\u2019s insanitary conditions guidance.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proposing to TRICARE a pilot project to demonstrate that compounded medications can help the agency achieve desired health outcomes and contain costs.<\/li>\n<li>Talking with FDA about <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/2022-05\/apc-cvm-leaders-meet-discuss-gfi-256\/\">the practical flaws in its \u201cfinal\u201d GFI 256<\/a> on veterinary compounding\u2014flaws that may impede animal healthcare.<\/li>\n<li>Developing a \u201cdecision points document\u201d to assist state boards of pharmacy in implementing and enforcing USP 800.<\/li>\n<li>Proposing a DQSA fix that would eliminate the 25-year-old MOU, mandate reporting to state regulators by pharmacies that ship more than 50 percent of their compounded medications out of state, and <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/urgentuse\">create in law a narrow path for 503As to provide shortage drugs<\/a> to hospitals and clinics.<\/li>\n<li>Advocating to enable 503Bs to manufacture generics that have been off-patent for 20+ years, are on FDA\u2019s essential drug list, and do not have a U.S.-based manufacturer. Our intent with this is threefold: address drug supply chain issues, stimulate stateside manufacturing, and strengthen the 503B business model.<\/li>\n<li>Working with FDA and Congress to insist that compounding pharmacies\u2019 483 files be closed out within a more reasonable timeframe.<\/li>\n<li>Providing our members <a href=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/2022-03\/healnow-is-apcs-preferred-online-payments-platform\/\">an online payments platform<\/a> that is integrated with the major compounding softwares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>But none of this stuff happens without funding\u2014and right now, APC is running low on funds to support our advocacy work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If you find the list above impressive\u2014if you think the work we\u2019re doing benefits your patients or your profession or the pharmacy or facility you work for\u2014please click below:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/members.whizkid.com\/a4pc\/donate\/onefund.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1705\" src=\"https:\/\/whizkid.com\/a4pc\/files\/Invest-in-Onefund-300x48.png\" alt=\"OneFund banner\" width=\"556\" height=\"89\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>OneFund is supported by gifts from members like you.
